Corn Cribs
The Lynch Farm (aka Beatty's)
This farm has a brick corn crib and an old barn still standing, but they have gone unused for many years. There is even a hand-dug well next to the barn.

Charlie's
The barn in the first couple pictures is old enough that it uses wooden pegs instead of steel nails. There was a second (and newer) barn here, but it fell down in 2003. There are also 2 corn cribs on this farm, a couple grain bins, a machine shed, windmill, small water tower, and of course a house. I remember back when I was a child, sometime in the late 1980s, shelling ear corn that was stored in one of the cribs here. Someone had a truck mounted sheller and it would create a massive pile of corn cobs. Also, back in either the 60s or 70s, there was a movie filmed on this farm. Now if I could only remember the name of that movie.

Don's
The inside of this crib has been modified to house a stationary grinder/mixer for making feed for the hogs that were on this farm at one time. The bins outside were for the corn and soybean meal.

JW's
This crib is on our main farm. Internally, mesh screen and reinforcement cables have been added to allow us to put shell corn in it, instead of just ear corn. Unfortunately, most of the modern equipment is either too tall or too wide to fit inside and use the bucket elevator. We work around this by putting a long auger in through one of the windows in the dormer at the top.

The Stark Farm
This crib has not been used for many years. Its bucket elevator was removed long ago for use in another project. Several years ago we buried an old barn and chicken house here to clean up the farm and gain some tillable land. This crib would be on the clean-up list next time around, but it is likely that this whole farm will be subdivided and covered in houses before that time comes.
